Shiv, Sarwan in Guyana training squad
GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Batting stars Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan have been named in Guyana’s training squad for the regional limited overs championship.
Former Guyana Under-15 player Ravi Sarwan, the younger brother of Ramnaresh Sarwan, and Guyana Under-19 wicket-keeper Anthony Bramble.
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) selectors picked 22 players – for training. Narsingh Deonarine, Mahendra Nagamootoo and Sewnarine Chattergoon, who have played Test cricket for West Indies are also in the squad for the Guyanese, who lost in the semi-finals to eventual champions Jamaica in the 2007 series in Barbados.
Leon Johnson, Guyana’s newest West Indies One Day International (ODI) player, is also in the squad which includes former West Indies Under-19 players Gajanand Singh, Assad Fudadin, Rajendra Chandrika and Veerasamy Permaul.
