WICB studying ECB's invitation

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has received an invitation from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to tour England next summer and the matter is under discussion. Speaking on Friday, October 24, Dr Donald Peters, Chief Executive of the WICB, said the proposal is for two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals, as a replacement for Sri Lanka.

“The WICB has a request to play two Tests and three ODIs in England. We are examining all possibilities. At this stage it presents some challenges because the West Indies will be hosting a series -- including Tests and One-Day Internationals -- against Bangladesh in early May next year,” Dr Peters said. “If we accept the invitation we would have to determine how best we could work out the logistics and planning issues.”

The WICB will provide more details in the coming weeks.
