WICB send letters of support to Pakistan and Sri Lanka

PORT OF SPAIN -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has sent letters of support to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) following the attacks in Pakistan on Tuesday, when members of the Sri Lanka team and match officials were injured and security officers were killed.

In his letter to the PCB, Dr Julian Hunte, President of the WICB wrote: “On behalf of the West Indies Cricket Board I send our deepest sympathy at the shocking and dreadful act in Lahore which led to such loss of lives, and left the Cricket World in deep mourning.  The West Indies Cricket Board stands resolute in support of the Pakistan Cricket Board during these tragic and unprecedented times”.

Dr Hunte also sent a letter to the SLC and offered full support.

The letter read: “On behalf of  the West Indies Cricket Board I convey our heartfelt concern at the calamitous events in Lahore which led to such loss of lives and injury to so many of your cricketers. My Board sends its best wishes for your cricketers’ complete recovery and a speedy return to International Cricket”.
