Lewis and Cush share spotlight as Windwards reach 157-8
The Windward Islands benefitted from some strong hitting at the death to reach a challenging 157-8 off their 20 overs against Guyana in Match 3 of the West Indies Board’s Caribbean T20 Tournament at Kensington Oval on Friday afternoon. Guyana need 158 off 20 overs to win the Group B match.
After opener Johnson Charles fell for a well-played 55 off 40 balls, the innings dipped to 112-5 at the end of the 17th over. However veteran Rawl Lewis lashed three sixes and a four in 30 off just 14 balls to revive the innings. He added 40 in 17 balls with Donwell Hector – they took a liking to off-spinner Royston Crandon, who conceded 26 runs in an over. The best bowlers for Guyana were veteran off-spinner Lennox Cush (4-20) and Devendra Bishoo (3-23).
