Dowlin and Chattergoon push Guyana to 86-1 off 11 overs

Openers Sewnarine Chattergoon and Travis Dowlin got Guyana off to a tremendous start against Trinidad and Tobago in Semi-final 1 of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 on Friday evening at Queen’s Park Oval. Chattergoon, the pocket-sized left-hander made a blistering 36 from 24 balls as Guyana reached 86-1 off the first 11 overs in the match reduced to 19 overs per team.

Chattergoon’s knock included two big sixes – one of which cleared the boundary at wide long-on and into the second tier of the Duprey Stand. He was dismissed caught behind by Denesh Ramdin off medium-pacer Lendl Simmons. Dowlin, the stocky right-hander, was unbeaten on 35 from 27 balls with three sixes. With him is pinchhitter Esuan Crandon on 12.
