Cooper and Lord lead fightback for Trinis against Bajans
Kingstown, St Vincent: Trinidad and Tobago fought back well against Barbados to reach 54-2 in the 17th over against Barbados in the semi-final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League on Monday. After being jolted at 7-2, the defending champs recovered thanks to a solid stand between Britney Cooper, who is on 24 not out, and Shenel Lord, who is on 12 not out at Arnos Vale 1.
In the other semi-final at Arnos Vale 2, St Vincent and the Grenadines were similarly placed on 62-2 in the 23rd over. Opener Juliana Nero topsored with 26, including three boundaries, before she charged down the pitch and was stumped off spinner Vanessa Watts. In the play-off match at Stubbs, Grenada were on 51-1 in the 16th over, while rain has delayed the start of the other play-off match between Dominica and Guyana.
