Jamaican bowlers build pressure on Vincentian batters

Kingstown, St Vincent: St Vincent and the Grenadines found themselves in deep trouble on 102-8 at the end of the 45th over as they found scoring difficult against Jamaica in the semi-finals of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League on Monday. Left-arm spinner Shanel Daley created a lot of problems taking 2-15 from her 10 overs to halt the scoring at Arnos Vale Playing Field 2. She took the key wicket of captain Cordel Jack, who made 10. Chadean Nation has also done a fantastic job with three wickets in five overs.

Over at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1, Trinidad and Tobago reached 118-3 off 35 overs against arch rivals Barbados in a keen contest. Britney Cooper, last year’s MVP, has been leading the charge with a solid unbeaten 50, while experienced left-hander Stacy-Ann King is on 24.

In the play-off match at Stubbs, Grenada fell from 51-1 in the 16th over to be all out for 89 off 29.3 overs. The other play-off match at Victoria Park between Dominica and Guyana was delayed due bad weather.
