Pollard goes on six-hitting spree as Guyana bowlers suffer

Durban, South Africa: Kieron Pollard smashed the Guyana bowlers to all parts of the field with a brutal batting display which piloted Mumbai Indians to 184-4 off their 20 overs in the Airtel Champions League match at Kingsmead in Durban.

The powerful six-footer smashed a Champions League record nine sixes as he made 72 from just 30 balls. He also hit a four. He came in one-down after skipper Sachin Tendulkar (48) and Shikhar Dhawan (39) added 82 for the first wicket in 10 overs. The last 10 overs yielded 100 runs as Pollard went on a power-hitting spree.

For Guyana, the best bowler was leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo, who took 3-34 from his four overs. Among his wickets was the prized scalp of Tendulkar who was stumped by keeper Derwin Christian.
