Gayle to lead Jamaica in WICB One-Day Tournament

Kingston, Jamaica: Chris Gayle has been named to lead Jamaica in the upcoming West Indies Cricket Board's 50-Over Tournament. This was confirmed by Paul Campbell, President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA). Campbell also indicated that the powerful left-hander will join the selection panel this week to pick the team for the October 14 to 24 tournament.

Jamaica will host the annual event will be played at Sabina Park, Chedwin Park and Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium.

“We have confirmed Chris Gayle as the captain,” Campbell said. Gayle will take over the leadership from allrounder Tamar Lambert, who led the team in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 tournament, which was played in Barbados and Trinidad two months ago.
