Windies to face Pakistan in World Cup quarter-final on Wednesday
Chennai, India – Following Sunday’s defeat against India the West Indies ended in fourth position in Group B of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The result meant that the Windies still booked a spot in the quarter-finals.
The Windies will now travel to Dhaka, Bangladesh for their quarter-final against Pakistan, who topped Group A. The match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Wednesday in a day/night contest at 2.30 pm (4.30 am Eastern Caribbean Time/3.30 am Jamaica Time).
The quarter-final matches will take place in the following order:
Match C: Pakistan v West Indies in Dhaka on Wednesday, March 23
Match E: Australia v India in Ahmedabad on Thursday, March 24
Match F: New Zealand v South Africa in Dhaka on Friday, March 25
Match D: Sri Lanka v England in Colombo on Saturday, March 26
The semi-final matches will take place as follows:
Winner Match D v Winner Match F in Colombo on Tuesday, March 29
Winner Match C v Winner Match E in Mohali on Wednesday, March 30
The final will be contested in Mumbai on Saturday, April 2.
