TEA: CCC fall for 112, Jamaica in charge

Cave Hill, Barbados – Three-time defending champions Jamaica have taken full control in the WICB First-class Final at the 3Ws Oval on Friday.

The Jamaicans bowled out host team Combined Campuses & Colleges for 112 on the stroke of tea on the opening day of the four-day match.

From a position of 36-5 at lunch, CCC didn’t do much better in the second session as batsmen had no answer to Jamaica's bowlers. The best bowlers were pacer Andre Russell (3-11) and leg-spinner Odean Brown (3-34). Opening bowler Jason Dawes took 2-26 in an excellent new ball burst.

For CCC left-hander Raymon Reifer topscored with 42 off 95 balls including eight fours while Nkrummah Bonner batted well to make 37 from 104 balls with three fours.

The winners of the match will take home the Headley/Weekes trophy in honour of West Indies legends George Headley and Sir Everton Weekes.
