Brathwaite stars with ball for Durham
London, England, CMC – Barbadian fast bowler Ruel Brathwaite snatched three wickets to help bowl Durham to victory over Warwickshire in the English County Championship on Friday. The 25-year-old right-armer, who went wicket-less in the first innings, finished with 3-62 as Warwickshire were bowled out for 313 in their second innings to lose by an innings and 103 runs at Edgbaston. Warwickshire resumed the day on 35 for three and folded despite a maiden first-class century from Keith Barker (101). Brathwaite grabbed three of the seven wickets to fall, finishing off the innings by prising out Chris Metters (25) and Naqash Tahir (53) in successive overs. Warwickshire had made 186 in reply to Durham’s mammoth first innings total of 602-6 declared. The tall strongly-built Brathwaite, who is a former Barbados Under-19 player and Cambridge University graduate, has so far taken 18 wickets from five games at an average of 26.
