King powers T&T girls to big win

Wales, United Kingdom –  Stacy King showcased her batting ability with a blazing 108 off 55 balls as Trinidad and Tobago Women made it three wins in a row on their tour of the United Kingdom.

King, the left-handed middle-order batter, continued her good tour as she led the visitors to 339 for seven off their 50 overs at the Newport International field.

Other good contributions came from Kirbyina Alexander with 92 off 78 balls, while Amanda Samaroo (41) and Lee-Ann Kirby (32) also played well.

This set Wales a massive target and they never got close. They were eventually bowled out for 145 off 46.2 overs. The most successful bowler for Trinidad and Tobago was spinner Gaitri Seetahal, who ended with two for nine from 7.2 overs. Anisa Mohammed, the West Indies vice captain and world-rated off-spinner, chipped in with two for 13 from nine overs.

The tour continues on Thursday with two Twenty20 match against Warwickshire at Handsworth Cricket Club.
