Chasing 118, West Indies was in trouble at 5-2 in two overs, with Tremayne Smartt and Shanel Daley both dismissed for “ducks”. It took the calm influence of Stafanie Taylor to steady the innings and bring some direction and purpose to the chase.

Stafanie in Top 5 in T20 rankings

Colombo, Sri Lanka - England’s Sarah Taylor and Lisa Sthalekar of Australia were revealed as the Number 1 ranked batter and bowler, respectively in the Reliance ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings which were launched in Colombo on Monday.

The launching ceremony took place just two days before the start of ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 in Galle on 26 September.

Taylor, who won the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year Award at the LG ICC Awards in Colombo on September 15, leads the batting table with 691 ratings points.

Jamaican Michael Muirhead appointed new WICB CEO

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that accomplished management consultant Michael Muirhead has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the regional governing body.

The Board of Directors approved Mr. Muirhead’s appointment at a meeting in Barbados at the weekend. Mr. Muirhead’s appointment is for three years.
