Windies women lose first ODI to SA

 

BASSETERRE, St Kitts – A fighting knock of 40 from skipper Merissa Aguilleira was the only sparkle as West Indies suffered a batting collapse and lost to South Africa by 80 runs in the first of their five match one-day International series at Warner Park here Monday.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – South Africa defeated West Indies by 80 runs in the opening One-Day International at Warner Park on Monday.

Scores: SOUTH AFRICA 206-8 off 50 overs (Trisha Chetty 58, Mignon du Preez 48, Shandré Fritz 24; Shaquana Quintyne 2-30, Shanel Daley 2-33) WEST INDIES 126 all out off 35 overs (Merissa Aguilleira 40, Deandra Dottin 26; Dané van Niekerk 5-28)

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Talismanic West Indies Women off-spinner Anisa Mohammed will be targeting 100 wickets when the opening One-Day International against South Africa bowls off here Monday.

Basseterre, St Kitts – Anisa Mohammed will be on a major mission when she lines up for West Indies Women against South Africa Women in the five-match One-Day International Series, which bowls off on Monday.

First ball in the opening match at Warner Park is 9:30 am (8:30 am Jamaica Time).
