Squads for ICC Women's World Cup 2013

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - England’s Charlotte Edwards has been picked for her fifth successive World Cup, while her Indian counterpart, Mithali Raj, has been selected for her fourth successive World Cup after all eight co untries finalized their squads for the ICC Women’s World Cup India 2013 to be staged in Mumbai from 31 January to 17 February.

New Zealand name strong squad

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – New Zealand have recalled the experienced Sophie Devine and the talented Kate Broadmore, to a 15-member squad announced New Year’s Day for this month’s ICC World Cup in India.

Opener Suzie Bates will again captain the Black Caps who were losing finalists at the last Women’s World Cup in Australia four years ago.

Experienced Raj to lead India in WC

MUMBAI, India – Stroke-maker Mithali Raj has been named to lead India in the Women’s World Cup which bowls off here later this month.

The 30-year-old is an experienced campaigner with 141 One-Day Internationals behind her, and also led India at the recent Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka when the team lost all their preliminary round matches.

Cri-Zelda Brits back for Windies tour

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Former skipper Cri-Zelda Brits has been included in a 14-member South Africa Women squad for next month’s limited overs tour of the Caribbean.

The 29-year-old all-rounder, who has played 57 One-Day Internationals and 17 Twenty20s, took an indefinite break from the game last January to focus on her management career.

Aguilleira confident as she leads Windies

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Merissa Aguilleira will again be at the helm of the West Indies Women when they face South Africa Women in an important series in St Kitts, Dominica and St Lucia next month.
