Guyana defeat Leeward Islands

PINELANDS, Barbados (CMC) – Jonathan Foo, Trevon Griffith, and Seon Hetmyer hit half-centuries to set the stage for a 76-run victory for Guyana over Leeward Islands in the limited-overs competition of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 Challenge on Tuesday.

Foo smashed a belligerent 65-ball 87, Griffith made 81, and Hetmyer 50, as Guyana reached 302 for nine from their allocation of 50 overs in their opening round match on a hard, true MTW Sports Club pitch.

Windward Islands 158 all out v. Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – Windward Islands, sent in to bar, were dismissed for 158 in 34.2 overs in their TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited-overs match against Barbados on Tuesday at Queen’s Park.

Barbados emerge winners -- TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Barbados emerged as winner of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 three-day trophy when they earned a draw against Jamaica on Saturday at the Wildey Ground. The home side ended the fine-match series with 37 points, ahead of defending champions Guyana on 34 points. Trinidad and Tobago, who played to draw in the final round with Guyana were third on 30 points. The Windward Islands were fourth on 28 points followed by Jamaica on 26 points and the Leeward Islands on 19 points.

Guyana hold on for draw against Trinidad & Tobago

CANE GARDEN, Barbados (CMC) – Seon Hetmeyer hit his maiden hundred to help Guyana earn a draw against Trinidad & Tobago as the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 Challenge ended on Saturday.

Hetmeyer gathered 105, as Guyana, trailing T&T by 109 runs from the first innings, reached 289 for eight in their second innings before the fifth and final round match came to a tame conclusion at the Lester Vaughan School.
