Rain forces a no result between Barbados and Jamaica

WATERFORD, Barbados (CMC) – Jamaica, despite posting a challenging total due to an attacking hundred from Horace Miller, had to settle for a share of the spoils against Barbados in their rain-ruined TCL West Indies Under-19 limited-overs match on Wednesday.

Miller smashed 12 fours and a six in an attacking knock of 101 from only 86 balls, as defending champions Jamaica raced to 196 for five in 34 overs before their innings was curtailed by rain in the second round match at the Combermere School.

Leeward Islands Trinidad & Tobago match ends in no result

FRIENDSHIP, Barbados (CMC) – Rain and unfit conditions brought a premature close between Trinidad & Tobago and Leeward Islands in the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited-overs competition on Wednesday.

When rain prompted the umpires to abandon the remainder of play about an hour before the scheduled close, Trindad & Tobago, chasing a revised target of 156 runs from 26 overs for victory, were on the ropes at 41 for three from 8.5 overs in their second round match at the Yorkshire Sports Club.

Leeward Islands reach 173 for 6 v. Trinidad & Tobago

FRIENDSHIP, Barbados (CMC) – Leeward Islands, sent in to bat, reached 173 for six from their allocation of 34.4 overs in their rain-affected second round match of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited-overs competition against Trinidad & Tobago on Wednesday at the Yorkshire Sports Club.

Jamaica reach 196 for 5 v. Barbados

WATERFORD, Barbados (CMC) – Jamaica, sent in to bat, reached 196 for five from their allocation of 34 overs in their rain-affected second round match of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited-overs competition against Barbados on Wednesday at the Combermere School.

Barbados defeat Windward Islands

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – New three-day champions Barbados were made to fight tooth and nail before overcoming Windward Islands by four wickets in their first match of the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited-overs competition on Tuesday.

Set 159 to win, Barbados lost six wickets before winning with one over to spare in a competitive, low-scoring match in the opening round at Queen’s Park.
