Dember takes 14 as Windwards draw

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – A defiant 50-run, seventh wicket stand between Delbert Gayle and Bryan Gayle, earned Jamaica a draw after they seemed headed for certain defeat on Thursday’s last day of their clash with Windward Islands.

Trailing by 76 runs on first innings after the Windwards were dismissed for 192 in their final round match in the Regional Under-19 three-day Championship, Jamaica found themselves tottering on 41 for six before the unrelated Gayles arrived at the crease to save the day.

Merry Christmas as T&T score big

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Brian Christmas and opener Jeremy Solozano plundered hundreds while captain Vikash Mohan fell just short of three figures, as Trinidad and Tobago produced a fabulous batting effort to gain first innings points over Leeward Islands, in their drawn fifth round match WICB Regional Under-19 three-day Championship.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC - Barbados were crowned new kings of the WICB regional under-19 three- day championship Thursday after their match with Guyana ended in draw at the Desmond Haynes Oval.

Despite not winning a single match, Barbados accumulated 45.5 points including a tournament-high 18.5 bonus points and 27 match points. Guyana finished runners up with 38 points including two wins with 33 match points but only 5 bonus points.

Brathwaite leads WI into quarter-finals

Brisbane, Australia - West Indies easily defeated Zimbabwe by six wickets on Thursday to book a place in the quarter-finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup. The win was the third for the Windies as they topped Group C and qualified for the quarter-finals against New Zealand.

Saunders, Baker set Leewards record

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Contrasting centuries by Akeem Saunders and Deno Baker helped Leeward Islands amass a tournament-high 423 all out and virtually erase Trinidad and Tobago’s chances of capturing the WICB Regional Under-19 three day Championship.

After toiling in the field for more than five sessions the Trinidadians responded with 92 for one, leaving a draw the most likely result should the Kensington Oval pitch maintain its bland nature on Thursday’s final day.
