Barbados draw against Trinidad & Tobago (TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge)

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – Barbados hunting their first TCL Group West Indies Under-19 title in five years, squandered a golden opportunity to register their second consecutive victory, when Trinidad & Tobago held them to a draw on Friday.

The hosts dismissed Trinidad & Tobago for 250 in their second innings, but set 165 runs to win in a minimum of 34 overs, they never took up the challenge and reached 90 for two before the match was called off with two overs remaining.

Round Two: Leeward Islands v. Jamaica (TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge)

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – Kjel Tyson rekindled the hopes of Leeward Islands with his maiden West Indies Youth Championship hundred in their TCL Group Under-19 match against Jamaica on Thursday.

Tyson hit a boundary-studded 114, as Leeward Islands, trailing by 13 runs from the first innings, were dismissed for 243 in their second innings in the first hour after tea on the second day of their second round match at Lester Vaughan School.

Round Two: Guyana v. Windward Islands (TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge)

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – Kerron Cottoy again tormented Guyana, as Windward Islands held firm in their TCL Group West Indies Under-19 match on Thursday.

Cottoy, the Windward Islands captain, snared four wickets for 47 runs from 27 overs, as Guyana, trailing by 71 runs from the first innings, reached 153 for six in their second innings when stumps were drawn on the second day of second round match on Wednesday at Combermere School.

Round Two: Barbados v. Trinidad & Tobago (TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge)

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – Hosts Barbados earned first innings points, although Trinidad & Tobago held a slender lead with seven second innings wicket standings in their TCL Group West Indies Under-19 match on Thursday.

Trinidad & Tobago, trailing by 86 runs from the first innings, reached 115 for three in their second innings when stumps were drawn on the second day of their second round match at Kensington Oval.

Windward Islands v. Guyana: TCL Group West Indies Under 19 Challenge

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – The Windward Islands enjoy a two-run first innings lead over defending champions Guyana at the end of the first day of their TCL Group West Indies Under-19 second-round match at Combermere School on Wednesday.

The Windward Islanders reached 120 for three by the close after 18-year-old Vincentian leg-spinner Kerron Cottoy and 17-year-old St Lucian off-spinner Dalton Polius had combined to wreck the Guyana innings for 118 on a good batting track.
