Windies A miss out on final as India A and Lions tie

The West Indies A Team narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the tri-nation goodwill series when India A and England Lions played to a thrilling tie in the last preliminary match on Tuesday.

At the start of the day the Windies were ahead of the Indian on points. The Indians needed a tie or a win to qualify. England Lions up 343-8 off their 50 overs and India A replied with 348-8 off their 50 overs. Needing two runs off the final delivery to win, India A scrambled a bye to secure the tie and also book their place in Thursday’s final ahead of West Indies A.
