Borde backs Powell as captain

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, CMC – West Indies A team manager Colin Borde wants young opener Kieran Powell to make the most of his appointment as captain for the Digicel Twenty20 double-header against India A this weekend.

The 22-year-old, already hailed as one of the Caribbean’s brightest prospects, was earlier this week named to lead the 13-man squad.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad — Jonathan Carter proved to be the “man with the golden arm” and was a key player in the West Indies A Team’s excellent triumph against India A in the recent Digicel “Test” Series.

A-class show by West Indies A

Gros Islet, St Lucia — There was no stopping West Indies A team on Tuesday as they completed an emphatic 10-wicket win over India A at Beausejour Cricket Ground, to take the three-match Digicel ‘Test’ Series 2-1.

West Indies were led by fast bowler Kevin McClean who sliced through the visitors’ strong batting line-up with five wickets for 57 runs on the final morning to dismiss India A for 202 in the second innings.
