Roach confident ahead of 2nd ODI

Colombo, Sri Lanka – The West Indies will be looking to go one-up when they face Sri Lanka in the 2nd ERI One-Day International at the Sinhalese Sports Club on Thursday.

The two sides had a wash-out in the series-opener on Monday and the second match becomes all-important. First ball in Thursday’s match is 9.30 am (12 midnight Eastern Caribbean Time/11 pm Wednesday Jamaica Time).

Dwayne Bravo set to return on Thursday

Colombo, Sri Lanka – All-rounder Dwayne Bravo is available for the 2nd ERI One-Day International against Sri Lanka on Thursday, after being rested for the series-opener. The 27-year-old, who has made 107 ODI apperances for the West Indies, missed Monday’s opening match due to a slight knee niggle.

Gibson full of praise for 'mature' Barath

Colombo, Sri Lanka – West Indies Head Coach Ottis Gibson has praised young opener Adrian Barath for his brilliant maiden One-Day International century on Monday.

Gibson described Barath’s stroke-filled 113 off 129 balls as “something special” and said the 20-year-old right-hander showed maturity beyond his years.

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Adrian Barath played a special innings on Monday as he recorded his maiden One-Day International century against Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI at Sinhalese Sports Club.

He made a stroke-filled 113 from just 129 balls in just his sixth ODI innings as the Windies made 145-5 off their 50 overs, before rain washed out the match.

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Adrian Barath made his maiden One-Day century as the West Indies made 245-5 off their 50 overs, batting first in the 1st ERI One-Day International against Sri Lanka on Monday.

After the Windies batted there was a heavy downpour and washed out the rest of the match before the Sri Lankans could start their reply.
