Shiv plays 133rd match as Windies bat first

Roseau, Dominica, CMC – India won the toss and chose to field on the opening day of the third and final Digicel Test match against West Indies on Wednesday at Windsor Park.

The match marked a special milestone for West Indies veteran Shiv Chanderpaul, who made his 133rd Test appearance, the most by a West Indian player.

West Indies made two changes, giving Test debuts to Kieran Powell and Kirk Edwards, after dropped Lendl Simmons and Ramnaresh Sarwan. India have brought Munaf Patel in to replace fellow fast-medium bowler Abhimanyu Mithun.

The ICC has given its member boards two years to become democratised and free from government and political interference in a bid to improve governance within the game. At its ongoing annual conference in Hong Kong the ICC unanimously supported the proposal to amend its constitution for member boards to have free elections.
