TEA: Sebastien's wickets give Windwards edge

Cave Hill, Barbados – An excellent spell off off-spin bowling by skipper Liam Sebastien has given the Windward Islands a slight advantage over Combine Campuses & Colleges at tea on the opening day of the WICB First-class semi-final at the 3Ws Oval.

Cave Hill, Barbados – A steady knock of 38 not out by experienced opener Romel Currency has put Combined Campuses & Colleges in a good position against the Windward Islands in their WICB First-class semi-final at the 3Ws Oval on Friday.

CCC reached 96-2 at the scheduled break. Skipper Omar Phillips was leg-before to Nelon Pascal for five in the day’s third over, while Shacoya Thomas was also trapped LBW by off-spinner Liam Sebastien for 32.

LUNCH: Jamaica 49-1 against T&T

St Augustine, Trinidad – Jamaica held the upper hand over Trinidad and Tobago after the first session in the WICB First-class semi-final match at UWI SPEC on Friday. Having been sent in to bat, the tourists lost Simon Jackson for one with just three runs on the board but reached 49-1 at the break.

Jamaica and T&T set for close semi

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – An absorbing contest can be expected, when Trinidad & Tobago face Jamaica in their semi-final of the WICB First-class championship, starting on Friday.

Both teams have cause for optimism entering the match. T&T finished the preliminary competition strongly with a resounding victory over Guyana, and Jamaica have an enviable record against their hosts, as well as their status as title-holders at the University of the West Indies Sports & Physical Education Centre.

CCC spinners eye more wickets

Cave Hill, Barbados – Combined Campuses & Colleges are set to unleash their spin threat against the Windward Islands in this weekend’s semi-final of the WICB First-class Tournament.

The duo of Ryan Austin and Kavesh Kantasigh had a combined total of 70 wickets in seven matches during the league campaign and are the two of the main forces behind their side topping the table with 55 points.
