Bravo believes batting will bloom

Dhaka, Bangladesh — Darren Bravo is yet to register a big score on the ongoing tour of Bangladesh, but the left-hander remains upbeat that he can deliver a major innings in the upcoming second Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The 22-year-old believes a positive approach at the crease will be the key. He also outlined that the work he is doing with Batting Consultant Desmond Haynes is helping with his mental approach to the game.

WI bowlers produce impressive digits

Dhaka, Bangladesh — The West Indies bowling unit has been doing a very good job in Test cricket this year and skipper Darren Sammy has applauded his team-mates for their excellent numbers in the longest format of the game.

Speaking on Friday, ahead of the start of the second Test match against Bangladesh, Sammy expressed confidence that it will be more of the same “hard-working and consistent kind of effort”, when the two teams meet on Saturday.

Windies, Tigers set for series decider

Dhaka, Bangladesh - Bangladesh and the West Indies are expected to face a somewhat slow and dry pitch when they meet for the series-deciding second and final Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

On the eve of the match the surface looked a bit drier than the one the two sides played on during the T20 International and two One-Day Internationals earlier this month. However, West Indies skipper Darren Sammy preferred to focus on his team’s readiness for the match rather than the pitch.

Skipper expects better in Dhaka Test

Chittagong, Bangladesh, CMC – West Indies captain Darren Sammy says he is hoping for a better showing from his batsmen when his side faces Bangladesh in the second Test starting in Dhaka on Saturday.

The Caribbean side gave a modest display in the first innings of the first Test in Chittagong, dismissed for 244 in response to the hosts’ 350 for nine declared in the drawn match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Guyana bat in 1st Super50 semi
