Barath replaces Powell for Beausejour

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Adrian Barath was chosen to replace fellow opener Kieran Powell in the West Indies 13-member squad for the last two Digicel One Day Internationals against Australia in St. Lucia this weekend.

Barath has overcome his recent spell of injuries and gave firm evidence of his fitness with a hundred for his native Trinidad & Tobago against Guyana in their sixth round match of the Regional 4-Day Tournament last weekend at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

Sammy: No one to blame

Gros Islet, St Lucia -- The West Indies and Australia teams arrived in St Lucia on Wednesday, the day after the dramatic tie in the third Digicel One-Day International in St Vincent on Tuesday.

From a seemingly hopeless position, West Indies clawed their way back from five wickets down for just 78 runs to the brink of victory, only for Australian fast bowler Brett Lee to run out West Indian captain Darren Sammy with the scores locked on 220.

Sammy said the team gave it all and no one was to be blamed.
