WICB to launch Lifestyle programme

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board is preparing to launch a Player Lifestyle Development (PLD) programme which will be geared towards developing well rounded cricketers at all levels.

Bairstow gets England call up

LONDON, England – England on Sunday named uncapped 22-year-old batsman Jonny Bairstow in an otherwise predictable 13-man squad for the first Test against West Indies starting at Lord’s on Thursday.

Bairstow, who has already played six One-Day Internationals and six Twenty20s, boasts a first-class average of 46.37.

WI lose by 10 wickets after Root hundred

NORTHAMPTON, England – West Indies suffered a 10-wicket defeat to England Lions on Sunday here.

Without the full services of their three-pronged pace attack, West Indies struggled to make any inroads and the Lions wiped off the 197 set for victory about 40 minutes before the rescheduled tea break on the final day of the four-day, first-class tour match at Wantage Road.

President Hunte sends condolences
