Narine ready to “answer the call”

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Sunil Narine returned home to Trinidad from India earlier this week and before he got a chance to unpack his bags, he was told to pack them again.

Fresh from an amazing Player-of-the-Tournament performance in the IPL, the magical off-spin bowler was called up to the West Indies Test tour of England as a replacement for the injured Kemar Roach.

LEICESTER, England – The selection panel of the West Indies Cricket Board advised today that off-spinner Sunil Narine will replace injured fast bowler Kemar Roach in the West Indies’ Test squad on their tour of the United Kingdom.

Roach returns home

LEICESTER, England – Fast bowler Kemar Roach has been ruled out of the remainder of the West Indies’ tour of the United Kingdom. 

Roach has been sidelined with shin muscle soreness and will return home to Barbados to allow this to heal before starting a bowling programme again.

Digicel Series will show progress - Borde

St John’s, Antigua – West Indies A Team Manager, Colin Borde, is looking forward to the upcoming visit by India A. The Trinidadian said the Digicel Series will show the progress the regional development team has been making.

Gibson hails Samuels, Sammy

Nottingham, England – West Indies coach Ottis Gibson said the batting of Marlon Samuels and Darren Sammy was a source of encouragement for him during the second Test against England, which ended on Monday.

Samuels and Sammy both hit first innings hundreds and twice linked up for vital partnerships in the match at Trent Bridge.
