Weather wrecks 2nd day

BIRMINGHAM, England – Another day of rain in the West Midlands forced the abandonment of play for the second straight day in the third and final Test between England and West Indies on Friday here.

Umpires Kumar Dharmasena of Sri Lanka and Tony Hill of New Zealand had little hesitation calling play off about 10 minutes after the scheduled lunch interval, when it was clear there would be no improvement in the weather.
