Gayle makes his second triple century to rewrite record books

Galle, Sri Lanka – Chris Gayle continued to rewrite the record books with his amazing batting against Sri Lanka on the second day of the 1st ERI Test match at the Galle International Stadium.

At tea the big left-hander was on 313 not out as the West Indies reached am imposing 532 for 3. Gayle started the middle session on 255 and reached the second triple century of his career. In the process he became the first West Indian to score a triple century outside the Caribbean.

Galle, Sri Lanka – Chris Gayle continued his dominant batting moving to 255 not out at lunch on Day 2 of the 1st ERI Test match at the Galle International Stadium in this southern coastal town. The West Indies started the day on 362-2 and went to the break on 429-3.

The big left-hander started the day on 219 and was watchful for the most of the morning as he added 34 runs in two hours of play. Overall he has batted for 498 minutes, faced 336 balls and hit 29 fours and eight sixes.

Galle, Sri Lanka - All the talk about West Indian batsmen inability to cope with the Sri Lankan spinners in Asian conditions was brought to nought by Chris Gayle on the opening day at Galle.

Gayle massacred the inexperienced Sri Lankan bowling attack for an unbeaten 219 – from 247 balls with 26 fours and eight sixes – at the end of day one as the West Indies closed on a commanding 362 for 2.

Galle, Sri Lanka – Chris Gayle hit a sensational double century as the West Indies reached an imposing 362-2 on the first day of the 1st ERI Test match against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium on Monday.

The powerful left-hander hit the ball to all parts of the ground and batted all day to end on 219 not out off just 247 balls. It was a record-breaking knock for the 31-year-old who has so far counted eight sixes and 26 fours.

Galle, Sri Lanka – Test match debutant Darren Bravo was clear in his mind what he wanted to achieve when he took to the field against Sri Lanka on Monday. The left-hander got the news on Monday morning that he would get his first Test cap against the Sri Lankans at the Galle International Stadium and he mapped out a plan of action.
