Vikash Mohan gets 94 in T&T trial match
COUVA, TRINIDAD - Aranjuez Sports skipper Vikash Mohan addressed the national selectors with the bat yesterday on the second day of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board's (TTCB) three-day trial match between a Denesh Ramdin XI and a Rayad Emrit XI at National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva.
Mohan, who skippered T&T's Under-19 team last year, struck 94 in the Denesh Ramdin team's reply to the Emrit XI's 282 all out, the latter side adding just one run and losing the final wicket after being 281 for nine overnight.
The Ramdin XI ended on 317 for six in 86 overs, with Mohan finding Evin Lewis at gully off Emrit to be out six runs short of his century. His knock produced eight fours. Captain Denesh Ramdin also notched a half-century, while his PowerGen teammate Jason Mohammed was out for 49.
At stumps, ahead of today's third and final day, Teshawn Castro was 43 not out, and Dane Teelucksingh unbeaten on six. Sanjiv Gooljar was Emrit XI's best bowler with two for 82, while Kavesh Kantasingh, Uthman Muhammad, Ansil Bhaggan and Emrit each had one wicket.
