St Elizabeth, Jamaica - The second and final day of the third round of matches in the Regional Under 15 tournament was completed today across three venues in Jamaica.

AT STETHS - Barbados v Windward Islands

A half century from Captain Emmanuel Stewart led the Windward Islands to a seven-wicket win over Barbados on the final day of their two-day Regional Under-15 Cricket match on Saturday.

Set 86 runs from 60 overs for victory, the Windward Islands reached their target losing three wickets with Stewart unbeaten on 53.

The Windward Islands took the first innings advantage after bowling Barbados out for 121 and then responding with 146 for eight.

Resuming on 47 for three, with Daniel Chesham on 29, Barbados only added 63 runs to its total. Chesham (33) and Nagee Holder (22) were the main contributors as Alick Athanaze (3 for 21) and Narun Singh (3 for 46) restricted the scoring.

The Windwards had an early scare with the loss of two wickets for 13 runs. But opener Johann Jeremiah, who was joined by Stewart, took the score to 62 before he was caught behind by wicketkeeper Michael Stewart for 23.

The Windwards’ captain took control of the situation and steered his side to victory over Barbados. His unbeaten innings of 53 included five fours from 49 balls.

AT MANLEY HORN - T&T v Leeward Islands

Led by an all-round performance from Saiba Batoosingh, Trinidad & Tobago defeated Leeward Islands by 10 wickets in their Regional two-day Under-15 Cricket Tournament on Saturday.

Batoosingh hit 70 from 67 balls which included nine fours and then took three wickets to restrict the Leewards in their second innings.

Trinidad & Tobago won the toss and sent the Leewards to bat, a decision which paid off as the Leewards’ batsmen were reeling 5 for 15 at one stage.

Jerelius Louis (29) and Zawandi White (11) were the only batsmen to get into double figures as they crumbled for 78 in 29.2 overs.

Joel Sutherland (3 for 5) and Sachin Seecharan (3 for 16) were the main destroyers.

The Trinis responded with 157, backed by Batoosingh’s 70, even though Trevor Hanley finished with 5 for 45, bowling for the Leewards.

Chasing a first innings’ deficit of 79 runs, the Leewards were quickly bowled out for 90 off 34.3 overs with Jamuel Cabey unbeaten on 18.

Batoosingh (3 for 9) and Seecharan (3 for 22) ensured their winning target is minimal.

It was left to openers Keegan Simmons (5) and Crystian Thurton (5) to score the 12 runs and secure maximum points for the Trinidadians.

AT TREASURE BEACH - Jamaica v Guyana

Guyana took advantage of a low scoring match to secure a two-wicket win over Jamaica in their Regional two-day Under-15 Cricket Tournament on Saturday.

A total of 393 runs scored between both teams from two innings, with the hosts only managing 99 as their highest total.

Kirk McKenzie (29) and Brad Barnes (27) were the Jamaica’s top scorers in the first innings with Ronaldo Mohammed taking 5 for 28.

Guyana, in reply, reached 95 for 9 off 38 overs with Raymond Perez (19) and Matthew Hardial (18). But it was Brad Barnes (3 for 19) and Ian Spence (3 for 25) who restricted the Guyanese.

Jamaica, with only four runs lead, were bowled out for 96 in their second innings with Jeavor Royal (24) and Dominik Samuels (21). Mohammed took four wickets for a match haul of 9 for 54 off 24 overs.

Guyana, haunted by scores under 100 and a target of 101 for victory, reached 103 for 8 off 55.4 overs. Hardial (27) and Mohammed (22) were the main contributors with the bat.

Michael Harriott took 4 for 34 and Ian Spence 2 for 18, bowling for Jamaica.
