Bassarath praises Ganga

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board president Azim Bassarath has praised Daren Ganga’s stint in charge of the national squad, and says he played a key role in bringing younger talent to the fore.

The 32-year-old Ganga announced last Saturday he would step down from the captaincy, ending nine seasons in charge.

Barath ready if called upon

KOLKATA, India,  CMC – Adrian Barath says he is recovered from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for the two Tests against Bangladesh last month and is keen on resuming his place at the top of the order in the second Test against India at Eden Garden starting here Monday.

The talented 21-year-old has struggled with injury over the last year and has played just seven Tests since making a spectacular debut two years ago with a hundred against Australia.

Shiv 6th in latest Test rankings

 

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, CMC – Veteran West Indies left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul has risen just one place to sixth in the latest ICC batting rankings, despite stroking a century against India in the first Test in Delhi last week.

Barath thinking long-term

Kolkata, India — Adrian Barath is thinking long-term as he looks to get back on track after recovering from an injury sustained last month in Bangladesh.

In his short international career the young right-hander has suffered a few setbacks but revealed he is feeling fit and strong again ahead of the second Test against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
