Port of Spain, Trinidad - West Indies Women all-rounder Shaquana Quintyne grabbed two wickets for 12 runs and scored 33 runs to lead Technocrats to a big upset win over the 2013 champions Moosai Women cricket team in the second round of the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Cricket Association (TTWCA) 30 overs Knock Out competition at El Dorado West Secondary School on Sunday.

Quintyne, the 18-year-old Barbados cricketer helped restrict Moosai to 112 for nine off their 30 overs before playing another key role with the bat to lead her team to 113 for six in reply off 28.5 overs. Also getting runs for Technocrats was Rachel Marcano who made 25.

Moosai, who won the Premier Division 40 overs League competition, still have a chance to make it to the next round  as the best losing team in the second round based on net run-rate.

Based on the scores in the other games, Moosai should be front-runners to go through but will have to wait for the TTWCA to make their calculations based on the official scores.

In the other matches on Sunday, Cricket Lovers beat Hibiscus Cricket Club by 67 runs at Brazil Recreation Ground while Phoenix Women defeated MAAAD Rangers by 96 runs at Couva East Secondary School.

In Couva, Britney Cooper slammed an unbeaten 101 and Felicia Walters hit 89 not out to lead Phoenix to 227 for two off their 30 overs. West Indies spinner Anisa Mohammed took one wicket for 34 runs while Alicia Lall grabbed one for 38. In reply, Melissa Sandy hit 60 as Rangers reached 131 for eight off their 30 overs.

In the other game, Cricket Lovers posted 225 for five off 26 overs before restricting the Championship Division 40-over league winners Hibiscus to 158 for seven. Cricket Lovers will face Phoenix in the semi-final of the tournament on May 17 while Technocrats will face the best losing team of the second round which will be based on net run rate.
