Teams book spots in SDC T20 quarters

KINGSTON, JAMAICA - RACECOURSE of Clarendon was among the teams to progress to the quarter-finals after last Sunday’s final round of games in the national phase of the Social Development Commission (SDC) Twenty20 (T20) competition.
Playing at home, Racecourse defeated Manchester’s Alligator Pond by 59 runs to book their place.
Scores: Racecourse 147-7 (20 overs); Alligator Pond 88 (16.4 overs).
In another match at the Clarendon venue, Junction/Bull Savannah registered a comfortable 54-run win over St Elizabeth rivals Treasure Beach.
Scores: Junction/Bull Savannah 153-5 (20 overs); Treasure Beach 99 (16 overs).
At the Elgin Town Community Centre, wild card team Orange cemented their spot after beating Farm Heights of St James by 53 runs.
Scores: Orange 139-7 (20 overs); Farm Heights 86 (18.1 overs).
Also in Elgin Town, Petersville of Westmoreland defeated Lucea by 41 runs.
Scores: Petersville 136-7 (20 overs); Lucea 95 (16.1 overs).
Jack’s River of St Mary swept to a seven-wicket win over Portland’s Buff Bay at the Ultimate Oval.
Hanchard Hamilton continued his sparkling form in the competition with a knock of 52 to help Jack’s River in their successful chase of 114-3.
Scores: Buff Bay 113-8 (20 overs); Jack’s River 114-3 (18.4 overs).
In the second match at the venue, Kemar Allen powered 60 not out as Clarks Town waltzed to a six-wicket win at 130-4 after Old Folly of St Ann were bowled out for 125.
Scores: Old Folly 125 (19.2 overs); Clarks Town 130-4 (13.3 overs).
The SDC T20 quarter-finals will be played next Sunday at two venues.
At the Harmons ground in Manchester, Junction/Bull Savannah battle Richmond Park in the opener at 10:00 am, while Racecourse and the 2012 beaten finalists Bridgeport complete the double-header at 2:00 pm.
At Eden Park in St Mary, Petersville face Clarks Town, while Jack’s River take on Orange in the afternoon fixture.
