TCL pull off crucial win over Proman

Port of Spain, Trinidad - Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) got their first win of the 2014 SIS Industrial Cricket League with a comfortable victory over cellar placed Proman last week at the Plipdeco Ground.

Christopher Holder (41) and Al Pascal (29) made light work of the Proman bowling attack dispatching the ball to the boundary on numerous occasions. 

Their partnership allowed TCL to post a daunting 110 for 6 off their allotted 10 overs, placing place immense pressure on a struggling Proman batting line-up. Ravi Soogrim was Proman’s the best bowler taking two wickets for just 23 runs. 

At Proman’s turn at the crease their batsmen tried to make the most of some wayward bowling by the TCL camp and were helped with 25 extras. However they were only able to amass 76 for 6 in their 10 overs. Leon Gouralal played a fighting innings of 25 not out but lack of support from his comrades meant they were always out of the game. 

Beemal Outhar had outstanding figures of 2-12 with Holder also taking 2-17 and Pascal chipping in with 1 wicket. Proman suffered their fourth consecutive loss whilst TCL’s win keeps their hopes alive of qualifying for the knockout stages.

PROMAN 76/6; (Leon Gouralal 25no, B. Outhar 2-12, C. Holder 2-17, A. Pascal 1-12) 

Result: TCL won by 34 runs
