SVG take first innings points from Dominca

ST.GEORGE’S, Grenada - St. Vincent and the Grenadines have taken first innings points from St. Lucia as their second round match in the Windward Islands two-day tournament ended in a draw on Friday.

The Vincentians, resuming from their overnight score of 101 for three, totaled 195 to lead by 27 runs on first innings at the La Sagesse playing field after earlier dismissing St. Lucia for 168.

Alton Bubb hit the top score of 37 and Romel Currency scored 28

St Lucia, batting a second time were 134 for 7 at the close.

Meantime, no play was possible on the second and final day of the game between Grenada and Dominica at the Beausejour Playing Field.

Heavy rains being experienced in the area in recent days have left a wet outfield and damp areas on the pitch.

After two rounds of competition, Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines lead the point standings on 12 points each.

Dominica have eight and St Lucia six.

The players take a rest on Saturday with the third and final round of matches starting Sunday.

St Lucia and Dominica meet at Beausejour, while Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines clash at Lasagesse.
