Stafanie moves up to Number 1
West Indies star player Stafanie Taylor has made her way to the top position in the batting ranking for Women in One-Day Internationals. The 20-year-old Jamaican gained five ratings points after being named the Player of the Series in the recent three-match series win by West Indies over India in St Kitts.
She is now 25 ratings points ahead of India’s Mithali Raj, who occupied the Number 1 spot for two years. Taylor, who was named the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2011 contributed scores of one, 75 and 23 as the Windies came from a match down to claim their first series win over the Indians.
Taylor, who also won the Player of the Series award in the recent 3-2 win the T20 Series, also maintained her Number 1 ranking among allrounders. Added to that she, jumped two places in the bowling ranking and is now at Number 5.
