St Lucia names strong squad for Windwards U-19 Tournament

CASTRIES, St Lucia – St Lucia will be attempting to regain the 2013 Windward Islands Under-19 Two-Day Cricket Tournament which they surrendered to Grenada last year.

The tournament bowls off in Grenada on July 7 but St Lucia has already named a strong 13-man squad to challenge the Grenadians at home.

The selectors have found favour in the London-based spinner and batsman Larry Edward as captain of the team for the one-week tournament.

They have also included the prolific batsman and spinner Tonius Simon as Vice-Captain.

Former national cricketer John Eugene has being appointed Head Coach and Shaun Alcindor as Manager.

St Lucia plays the defending champions Grenada in their opening match on July 7.

Team: Edward (captain), Simon (v/captain), Tarryck Gabriel, Vince Smith, Rick Velinor, Sabinus Emmanuel, Clem St Rose, Dornan Edward, Valange St Ange, Vergel Theodule, Michael Charlery, Selwyn Boyce, Steven Naitram.
