Speaker supports Cricket for Unity game

Georgetown, Guyana - Speaker of the National Assembly Raphael Trotman on Friday confirmed his support for the inaugural Cricket for Unity 20/20 cricket match on September 6 at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground, Queenstown.
Trotman handed over a quantity of medals to Coordinator of the match, Dexter “Bushman” Garnett, at Parliament Buildings. Garnett in turn presented Trotman with his jersey for the game, as the Speaker is due to turn out for Roraima Strikers against Kaieteur Thunders.
Trotman said he is pleased to assist the organisers and said the initiative is a good one since. He lauded Garnett and his team for choosing unity as the theme of the match.
Apart from a host of former cricketers, the match will feature politicians, singers, journalists, businessmen, Police officers and lawyers. Action will bowl off at 19:00h and admission to the venue is $500. This publication also understands that the organisers are working on having a female match to precede the main encounter.
