Shiv moves to 134 at lunch

Basseterre, St Kitts – Shivnarine Chanderpaul continued on Monday morning from where he left off Sunday evening by punishing the Bangladesh bowlers on the third and final day of their warm-up match at Warner Park.

The legendary left-hander started the day on 70 not out and was unbeaten on 131 at the lunch break. He has led the St Kitts & Nevis team to 328-6 – 49 runs away from the 377-7 declared made by Bangladesh.

So far Chanderpaul has faced 241 balls and struck 14 fours and a six. He shared a fifth-wicket stand of 94 in two hours with allrounder Jeremiah Louis who made 35 off 81 balls, including five boundaries.

The other wicket to fall in the morning was teenaged keeper Jaeel Clarke who was dismissed without scoring the ball before the interval.

The best bowler so far is left-arm spinner Taijul Islam with 3-92 off 24 overs.
