Sheldon meets his favourite Windies
Gros Islet, St Lucia — Members of the West Indies team pose with Sheldon Nelson before the start of play today’s fourth Digicel One-Day International at Beausejour Cricket Ground.
Sheldon, who is 17 years old, has Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and is an advocate for the differently-abled in St Lucia. He is a big Windies fan and watches every match. He was on the field at the toss and handed over the coin to West Indies captain Darren Sammy. Afterwards he was introduced to both Sammy and Australia Shane Watson.
“It’s always good to meet our fans and spend time with them,” Sammy said. “Sheldon is a huge Windies fans and it was great to see the smile on his face when the boys came out to meet and greet him.”
