PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - Outsiders will lock horns with Spoilers tomorrow when both teams clash in the RS Sports Association Twenty20 final, which bowls off at the Wilson Road Recreation Grounds, Penal, from 6.30pm.

Both teams secured finalist spots over the weekend after overcoming their respective oppositions in the semi-final legs. In the first “semi”, Outsiders were led to a comfortable 26-run win over Hillpiece Sports. 

Batting first, the former piled on a good target of 160 for seven after 20 overs. They were led by knocks from Bevon Duncan (38) and Mukesh Boodoosingh (37). Keegan Jagessar was the most economical bowler with his one for 17. 

In their turn at the crease, Hillpiece Sports were restricted to 134 for seven after their 20 overs, due to some impressive bowling from Vishan Jagessar (3/19) and Boodoosingh (3/20). Keegan top scored with 46. 

The other semifinal saw Spoilers outplay Knockers Sports by a distant 65-run margin. Spoilers batted first and got to a fair total of 156 for eight. Ramjass Nagessar led with his half-century knock (51) while Ron Ramnath chipped in with 34. Sham Singh was the best bowler taking two for 31. 

In reply, Knockers Sports were whittled away for a paltry 91 due to stellar spells from Shane Samai (3/8) and Shammi Rampersad (2/4). 

Meanwhile in the RS Sports Association’s 30 over format, SKG will do battle with Vijay Sports while Outsiders continue their journey for the double-crown when they meet Central Renegades in the semifinal. 

However, these matches bowl off at the Wilson Road Grounds on Sunday from 1pm.
