Deonarine, Fudadin propel Guyana

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Narsingh Deonarine and Asad Fudadin led steady batting, as Guyana profitted from five missed chances, moving within sight of first innings lead over Barbados in the Regional 4-Day Tournament on Saturday.

Deonarine was unbeaten on 63 and Fudadin made 62, as Guyana, responding to Barbados’ first innings total of 317, closed the second day of the fifth round match Kensington Oval on 187 for three.

Pacers put Jamaica in charge

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Andrew Richardson and Sheldon Cotterrell produced a lethal burst to rock hosts Trinidad & Tobago, putting Jamaica in a superior position in the Regional 4-Day Tournament on Saturday.

After Jamaica were dismissed for 290 in their first innings, T&T found themselves in strife early and finished a rain-affected second day at Queen’s Park Oval on 89 for five.

Kantasingh, Baugh shine on rainy day

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – West Indies wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh stroked his 12th first class century to haul Jamaica out of trouble on the opening day of their fifth round clash against Trinidad and Tobago here Friday.

Guyana made to toil against Bajans

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Spurred by half-centuries from openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Omar Phillips, as well as Jonathan Carter, Barbados reached 227 for five in their first innings at the close against Guyana on the opening day of their fifth round Regional 4-Day first-class match at Kensington Oval on Friday.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua - The Regional 4-Day tournament resumes tomorrow with fifth round of matches, following a one-week break last weekend. And  Jamaica’s  captain Tamar Lambert said his side will continue to play hard, as they seek to win the tournament for a fifth straight year.
