Rain denies North victory

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - North had to settle for first innings points against Tobago due to rain in their BG TT two day Inter Zonal U-19 cricket match at the Queen’s Royal College ground on Wednesday.

The visitors resuming on their overnight score of 26 for two, were all out for just 104 in reply to the home team’s first innings score of 236.

Antonio Providence was the only batsman to offer any resistance with 36. Jesse Bootan grabbed four for 21 while Mikel Riley had three for nine and Camillio Carimbocas took two for five.

The Tobagonians asked to follow on were up against it in the second innings and had it not been for the rain which caused a delay they would have been bowled for a second time.

However, they were able to crawl to 82 for the loss of eight wickets when play was called. Samuel Duncan was the visitors’ top scorer with 12 runs as the batsmen for the second time failed to come to grips with the North bowling.

Tian Webster with three for 19 and Abinna Thomas two for 32 were the main wicket takers.

On Tuesday, the first day, Carimbocas stroked 103 not out to pilot North to their first innings total. He received valuable support from Kelly Rosales who made 32.

Summarised Score:
