Nanthan gets two-year term from DCA

ROSEAU, Dominica – Cricket clubs and teams from across the island have kept faith with long-serving administrator Emmanuel Nathan, giving him the nod to runs the affairs of the sport here again.

On Saturday, Nanthan was re-elected as the President of the Dominica Cricket Association for another two-year term.

Nanthan, who is also president of the Windward Islands Cricket Board, defeated former president of the Dominica Cricket Association, Joey Peltier by 36 votes to four at the Annual General Meeting which was held at the Garraway Hotel.

Herbert Sabaroache and Lockhart Sebastien were re-elected unopposed as first and second vice-president respectively. Treasurer, Mc Dowill Paul was also re-elected unopposed.

The new secretary is David Johnson, who defeated Rhona Riley in a close contest by 24 votes to 20. The new PRO is Mervin Paul.

The rest of the executive comprises Gifford Walsh and Mervin Thomas who will serve as the committee members. Eugenia Blanc is the assistant secretary/treasurer.

At the AGM, Nanthan revealed a five point development plan geared at improving cricket on the island.

Nanthan is also a West Indies Cricket Board director.
