Kingston, Jamaica - The Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Masters T20 cricket competition moved one step closer to the August 24 semi-finals after the ninth week of matches on Sunday, August 10 at Kensington Cricket Club.

Zone A leaders Mico Masters and Zone B leaders Wray All Stars secured their semi-final places following comprehensive victories over 2012 champions Domtar Sports Club and St Catherine Parish, respectively.

There were several good individual performances, including a defiant 40 off 35 balls (4x4, 1x6) by Domtar's Mark English in his team's total of 83 for eight. For Mico, spinner Solomon Darby took three for 16 (three overs) and two very good catches; Calvin McGregor two for five in one over; plus a quickfire 25 by opener Orville Pennant off only 14 balls (3x2, 2x6); and 30 not out by the reliable Carl Brissett (1x4, 2x6) off 24 balls saw Mico to victory at 86 for two.

The Domtar SC vs Mico Masters encounter was reduced to a 15-over affair as early rain caused a late start.

Domtar will battle May Pen Lions for the second Zone A semi-final place in next Sunday's final round of preliminary matches. In the Zone B encounter, Wray All Stars secured their semi-final place by easily defeating St. Catherine Parish by 45 runs, with entertaining knocks of 47 by captain Nehemiah Perry (5x4, 2x6) off 26 balls, and a customary innings-anchoring 38 (4x4) off 45 balls by opener Wayne Lewis, as their team made 148 for eight. For St. Catherine, Colin Buchanan took four for 27, and wicketkeeper Milholland Barker had four dismissals.

In their reply, St Catherine Parish could only manage 103 for six, with Winston Heath making a top score of 29. John Gordon captured two for 30.

St Thomas Eagles - with one game to play versus Wray All Stars to decide who tops the zone - have also qualified for the semi-finals from Zone B after St Catherine lost on Sunday.
