Bridgetown, Barbados - CGI Maple beat ICBL Empire by eight runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method in the first semi-final of the 2013 BCA Sagicor General Twenty20 championship at Kensington Oval tonight.

Set a revised target of 66 off nine overs after rain interrupted their innings with the score 18 without loss off 3.3 overs, Empire were restricted to 57 for eight.

Only newcomer Mark Deyel, a Trinidadian, reached double figures with 19.

Left-arm spinner Jamar Griffith took four for 12 off two overs and was named Player-of-the-Match.

The rain first stopped play during the Empire innings at 9.19 p.m. Play resumed at 10.40 p.m. 

Maple scored 137 for five off 20 overs after winning the toss.

Shane Parris topscored with 81 retired hurt. Parris, who went to the crease at No. 3, struck eight fours and three sixes before hurting his leg in the final over (19.1 overs) when he slipped on trying to regain his ground after completing a single.

Shane Ramsay, swinging, was caught at point by Nikolai Charles off pacer Justin Greaves for nought (2-1; 0.4 overs); his opening partner, Pedro Agard, swinging across, was bowled middle stump by Greaves for four (13-2; 2.3 overs); skipper Renaldo Parris, pushing forward to a slower, short ball, was caught and bowled by Brandon Best for nought (18-3; 3.3 overs); left-hander Orman Kellman, driving, was caught and bowled by left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican for ten (52-4; 8.5 overs) and Khalid Springer was bowled by Greaves for eight (133-5; 19.5 overs).

The not out batsmen were Kevin Stoute on six and Mark Deyel, 11.
