Third-place match reduced to 14 overs per side

Play in the third-place play-off match in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 Tournament between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago got started at 5.30 pm. The match was reduced to 14 overs per side after rain had delayed the start at Queen’s Park Oval, on Saturday afternoon. After this match Barbados and Guyana will face each other in the grand final, slated for 8 pm.

Sharp shower delays start of T&T v Jamaica play-off

Rain has delayed the start of the third-place play-off match in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 Tournament at Queen’s Park Oval, on Saturday afternoon. Jamaica captain Tamar Lambert won the toss and decided to bat first but a sharp, downpour came just before the scheduled 4 pm start. Jamaica have retained the same team which lost to Barbados in the semi-finals, while Trinidad and Tobago have brought in allrounder Imran Khan and pacer Kevon Cooper for Navin Stewart and William Perkins. Trinidad and Tobago lost their semi-final against Guyana on Friday.

Barbados get over Jamaica to reach final of Caribbean T20

Barbados played a good allround game to record a comfortable win over Jamaica in Semi-final 2 of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 on Friday evening at Queen’s Park Oval. The Bajans limited the Jamaicans to 153-9 and then strolled to 154-4 to win with more than an over to spare.

The outcome meant that Barbados will face Guyana in the final on Saturday at the same venue from 8 pm (7 pm Jamaica Time). Jamaica will take on Trinidad and Tobago in the third-placed play-off at 4 pm (3 pm Jamaica Time).

Richards falls to Miller leaving Bajans to get 89 off 60 balls

Barbados will need to make 89 runs in the final 10 overs to defeatJamaica and reach the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 tournament. They reached 65-2 off the first 10 overs in pursuit of Jamaica’s 153-9 off their 20 overs. Opener Dale Richards made 40 off 21 balls at the top of the order but since his dismissal to the Nikita Miller off the first ball of the seventh over the innings slowed down.
